 FROM MILAN TO YALON

Lenny Kravitz’s limited edition Casino Royale chandelier by Swarovski to be sold at the Yalon Showroom in Herzliya

Rock idol Lenny Kravitz is as well known for his eclectic style as he is for the retro-rock sound that has won him four Grammy Awards. More than 20 years after bursting onto the music scene, he is channeling his iconic fashion sense into design and architecture.

After opening his design firm, Kravitz Design, in 2003, one of his first projects was to create a chandelier for Swarovski Crystal Palace – the world-renowned crystal revolutionary design project that works with the world’s foremost designers to create “signature interpretations of light and design” using Swarovski crystal.

Inspired by the soulful elegance of a bygone era, this pendant-style chandelier has a subtle luminosity emanating from within the highly polished, blackened chrome and brass boxes that make up its frame. These boxes contrast sharply with flowing chains of Jet Black, Golden Teak and Clear Swarovski Elements.

Sleek and contemporary, Casino Royale, Kravitz’ signature interpretation of the chandelier, was recently on display at Euroluce 2011, the international lighting exhibition in Milan.

Besides the standardized product, a worldwide 22 piece limited edition of this product family, with three pieces of the largest size, measuring more than 3.5 meters tall, was autographed by Kravitz after production, making it a true “signature” edition. This caught the eye of Elyakim Yalon, owner of E. Yalon Trading Ltd., a Swarovski Authorized Lighting Partner located in Herzliya, Israel.

He has since purchased the first out of three large limited edition autographed Casino Royales to display in the sparkling Yalon Showroom in Herzliya Pituach.
