Cut crystal harbours undreamt-of possibilities – many of which still await discovery. In order to tap ever more into the potential of this extraordinary material, Swarovski not only works with internationally renowned designers, but also supports projects involving students from such widely acclaimed institutions as the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements first collaborated with the RISD in 2008, on the “Crystal Connection” project. In creating their designs, the students enjoyed complete artistic freedom and had access to the entire CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements collection. The results were stunning, with students utilising the extraordinary effect of cut crystal in interiors of all kinds. Last autumn, the resulting works were presented to an international audience at the “Habitat” exhibition in Valencia. The exhibition included the widest variety of projects – from upholstered chairs to lighting, surfaces and floors. Students integrated crystal into carpet, textiles, latex, wood, ceramics and silver, as well as building materials of all kinds. They also found numerous other ways of effectively utilizing CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements in the structuring of interiors.
