Frozen® Ice Bar Lech: Unbroken enthusiasm for Crystal in Ice

16.03.2009

A third consecutive year of ever-growing enthusiasm only goes to demonstrate this unique project’s success. During winter in Lech am Arlberg, Austria, Swarovski crystal elements are frozen in ice and brilliantly presented with the aid of coloured light. Swarovski Crystal Panels built into walls of ice create kaleidoscopic effects, simultaneously fusing crystal, state-of-the-art technology and natural ice blocks.

The objective of the architects involved in this project was to combine the elements, giving expression to the elemental power of the ice while creating an exquisite and exceptional atmosphere. The interplay of ice and crystal especially enhances the quality of Ice Bar. In addition to the individual crystals and crystal panels, a broad range of Swarovski luminaires and lighting systems, all of which perfectly complement one another, are also applied. As the primary creative material for this project, crystal predominates.

The Ice Bar is thus only one of many examples of how individual room concepts can be realised with the aid of lights, light systems and Swarovski crystal. Swarovski’s expert staff is always there to provide assistance as a competent project partner.
